The National Weather Service is warning residents to prepare for cold temperatures tonight into Tuesday afternoon.

NWS released a cold weather advisory over the weekend, which says wind chills as low as 10 to 20 degrees are expected in Southern Clinton, Centre, Bedford and Blair counties.

“The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions aren’t taken,” the advisory states.

In Clinton County, the Department of Emergency Services put out the call asking for those who may be able to provide warming centers for those in need.

Emergency Management Coordinator Scott Kemmerer said the department received three locations as of Monday afternoon:

— The Salvation Army, 119 E. Church St., Lock Haven, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The facility also serves lunch.

— Cara Montarsi State Farm, 358 E. Main St., Lock Haven, is able to be a warming center both Tuesday and Wednesday as needed. Ours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

— The Mill Hall Volunteer Fire Co., 9 Peale Ave., Mill Hall.

— Chapman Township Fire Company, 79 Park Ave., North Bend, will be open Tuesday evening.
