KEMMERER — Leona M. (Schrack) Kemmerer, 90, of Loganton, died Jan. 12, 2026. The funeral service will be held this afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton, Pa. Private interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.

HOUSER — Ralph Richard Houser, Sr., 95, of Valley View, rural Bellefonte, died Jan. 12, 2026.

Visitation will be held at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N Spring St., Bellefonte, today from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Meyer Cemetery in Benner Township, Centre County, Pa.

MARTINEC — Jan Sydney (Helscher) Martinec, 74, of Spring Mills, died Jan. 8, 2026. Visitation will be held today from 4-6 p.m. at Howard Christian Church, 367 Walnut St., Howard, Pa. A memorial service will follow beginning at 6 p.m., with Pastor Don Crane officiating. Light refreshments will be offered after the service.

SAUERWEIN — Robert E. Sauerwein, 51, of Centre Hall, died Jan. 6, 2026. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m., at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Centre Hall. Graveside services will follow at Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.

UMSTEAD — Russell W. “Russ” Umstead, Jr., 89, of Lock Haven, died Dec. 20, 2025. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, from 10-11 a.m., at the St. John Evangelical Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at the family’s convenience.

WEAVER — Ronald J. Weaver, 82, of Bellefonte, died Dec. 4, 2025. Friends and family will be received on Jan. 17, from 10-11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Bellefonte. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 11 a.m.

TARANTELLA — Alieta J. Tarantella, 73, of Renovo, died Jan. 4, 2026. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m., at the North Bend Cemetery, 207 Main St., North Bend, Pa.

HUNTER — Mary K. Hunter, 79, of Lock Haven, died Jan. 10, 2026. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 10:30 a.m., at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, Pa. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven, Pa.

MEEKINS — Ronald H. “Ron” Meekins, 89, died Dec. 27, 2025. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Salladasburg United Methodist Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

BIERLY — Walter S. Bierly, 85, of Jersey Shore, died Dec. 28, 2025. A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

KWIATEK — Pete T. Kwiatek, 74, of Green Valley, Ariz., died Dec. 19, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held in Green Valley, Ariz., at a later date.
