Janet R. Mann

JANET MANN

Janet R. Mann, 94, of Mill Hall passed away Jan. 18, 2026 at the Williamsport Gatehouse after a brief illness.

Janet was born on April 11, 1931, in Flemington. She was the daughter of the late Howard N. and Grace E (Myers) Duke. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Richard (Dick) H. Mann, who passed in September 2019; and by her son, Richard T. Mann, who died in January 2021.

A graduate of Mill Hall High School class of 1949, Janet was deeply committed to her Christian faith. She attended Mill Hall Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church and, more recently, the Church of Christ in Flemington. Over the years, she built strong friendships through church activities, including StoneCroft Ministry seminars with her husband, LAMBS, Friendship Bible Coffee studies and regularly attending the Lock Haven Christian Women’s Connection gatherings at the Church of Christ.

Family was central to Janet’s life. She rarely missed the sporting events of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve were celebrated at her Mill Hall home, and she enjoyed family picnics at their river lot in Lock Haven. Summers often found Janet and Dick navigating their pontoon boat along the Susquehanna River.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (Dr. Sam) Schrack, of Montoursville, Dennis (Dawna) and Brian (Lori), of Mill Hall; and daughter-in-law Brigette (Rick) Mann, of Karlsruhe, Germany. Janet also leaves behind two sisters, Lorraine (William) Frantz, of Tylersville, and Phyllis (Lou) Widmann, of Lock Haven, as well as many nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by three stepsisters — Betty Schlesinger, of Mill Hall, Rita Cunningham, of Woolrich, June (Thomas) Cooney, of Altoona — and a stepbrother, William Wolf, of Woolrich.

She valued keeping in touch with her grandchildren Stacy (Scott) Kelly, Jaime (Charles) McCann, Stephanie Erlandson (Dr. Ed Gusick), Philip (Alexandra) Mann, Kristi (Matt) Hoover, Brandin (Rochelle) Mann, and her 16 great grandchildren, cherishing in-person visits but also using Facebook, email and Skype.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church, 37 Cedar Heights, Mill Hall, Pa. 17751 on Thursday, Jan. 22, 12 p.m. with Pastor Scott Garman officiating. Friends and family will be received in the church two hours prior to services.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church or Flemington Church of Christ, 714 Canal St, Mill Hall, Pa. 17751.
