Paul O. McCune
Paul O. McCune, 98, of Wellsboro, Pa., (formerly of Mill Hall, Pa.) passed away on Jan. 22, 2026, at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro.
Paul was born in Gassaway, W.Va., to the late Earl and Nora (Fowler) McCune on July 30, 1927.
He went to Gassaway High School, and after graduating, he enlisted in the Navy and trained as a medic. After a tour on the West Coast, he was sent to Hawaii where he finished his tour.
On July 13, 1947, Paul married Wilda Christine Flanigan in Mill Hall. They were married until her death on May 30, 2013.
He worked in Quality Control at Hammermill Paper Company in Lock Haven. After retirement from Hammermill, Paul and his wife enjoyed fishing and visiting Wellsboro.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Lois C. Bellinger and Susan B. (Jerry) Bowen, both of Wellsboro; a grandson, Cameron (Haleigh) Bowen; step-grandsons, Quinn Allen and Merle (Kathy) Bellinger; and a step-granddaughter, Sherry (Scott) Sheeler.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Earl McCune, Jr. and Donald McCune; his sister. Sonja Cooper; and sons-in-laws, Edward Bellinger and Jesse Isaac. He is also missed by his “grand dog” Liam.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery on June 3, 2026, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Susan Champion officiating.
