CHARLES SAIERS
Charles D. Saiers, 87, of Lock Haven, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born May 12, 1938, in Lock Haven, to Darrel Saiers and Mildred Stevenson Saiers, Charlie graduated from Lock Haven High School, where he was a proud Bobcat, earning football honors. During his high school years, he met his future wife of 70 years, Deanna Blesh Saiers.
Charlie was known for his strong work ethic, dependability and commitment to family, friends and faith. For over four decades, Charlie was employed at the Hammermill Paper Company. Additionally, for several years, Charlie helped care for patients at The Lock Haven Nursing Home on Water Street. Upon the closing of the nursing home, Charlie continued a family tradition in the landscape business, serving many families in the Lock Haven community.
Surviving is his wife, Deanna; his two daughters, Charlene Jacobus (Austin), of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Laurie Pagnotto (John), of State College, Pa.; his sister, Gale Fuller; three grandchildren, Lynn Brotzman (Ben), Christa Hoffman (Michael) and Michael Pagnotto (Taylor); and four great-grandchildren, Preston and Rhett Brotzman and Johnny and Leo Pagnotto. He is also survived by his three nephews, Shane Lenker, Jason Fuller and Josh Fuller, and many special people, who Charlie considered family. Charlie was predeceased by his father, mother and sister, Joan Lenker.
Charlie’s family wishes to thank the Lock Haven Rehab and Senior Living staff, the First Church of Christ community and the Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital caregivers for the love and support they have provided Charlie and his family.
