EMILY UMSTAD

Emily M. Umstad, 86, of 208 W. Peale Avenue, Mill Hall, went home to be with her Lord on March 28, 2026.

She was the daughter of Clifford H. and Erma (Hoffman) Shady, both deceased. Emily was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She retired from Poorman & Group in Lock Haven. Former employers include Hammermill Paper Company and Drake Chemicals.

She is survived by her beloved son, Clarence (Chip) Hill, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Mill Hall. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Thomas Holt, along with nephews, Clifford Shady III, of Beech Creek, Jason Shady, of Osceola Mills, Craig Jahelka, of Maryland, and grandchildren, Tammie Knecht (Michael) and Venus Moriarty, along with numerous great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service for Emily M. Umstad will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main Street, Lock Haven at with Pastor Donald Grant officiating. Friends and family will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to services.

Burial at Rest Haven Memorial Park will take place at the convenience of the family.
