Margaret S. “Peg” Ziegler

Margaret S. “Peg” Ziegler, 96, of Lock Haven, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living.

Born Jan. 9, 1930 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Lena M. (Miller) Shearer.

Peg was a 1947 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On Feb. 11, 1953, she married her best friend, Richard R. Ziegler, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage before his passing in 2025.

Peg was a member of the former Castanea United Methodist Church as well as the Senior Circle.

Surviving are a grandson, Benjamin Ziegler; and three great-grandchildren: Jadalynne, Jasmine and Jaron Ziegler.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John R. Ziegler; as well as sisters, Barbara Wharton and Phyllis Ivic; and brothers, John Shearer and William “Boots” Shearer.

A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends. Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
