Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.

The Marsh Creek Brethren In Christ Church would like to thank all of those who supported their shoe drive collection for The Gospel Tide. The church was able to collect a total of 475 pairs of shoes that will be delivered to The Gospel Tide office before the end of March. The shoes will be used for microbusinesses and funding for literacy classes in India.

THANK YOU to Bonnie Young who once again coordinated the shoe drive collection this year.

A special THANK YOU goes to Chuck and Brenda Fetters for their collection efforts of Gospel Tide’s “Your Soles for Their Souls” campaign this year. The Fetters collected 240 pairs of shoes from their friends at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jacksonville and the Milesburg Lions Club Bingo players and delivered them to Bonnie.

God Bless all who contributed to the shoe collection this year. (We will probably do it again next year, so keep an eye out for new and gently used shoes, sneakers, sandals and boots that can be donated.)
