Opportunity Ignored

Scott Knisely

Mill Hall

Since October 2023, I have been writing Letters to Editors of newspapers, contacting elected Republican Representatives and Republican Election Officers across Pennsylvania, asking for proof of Senate Candidate Dave McCormick’s claimed residency in Pennsylvania.

We continue to get Dave’s standard response of: I was born in Pa., I am a seventh generation Pennsylvanian and I own property in Bloomsburg and Pittsburgh, Pa.

Being born and owning property in a state does not constitute residency.

I have been lambasted by Republican Party officials for even bringing the subject up. What are they hiding? Any half smart business person would address this issue right away, to avoid not losing needed votes, to win a close race with Senator Casey. How hard would it be for Dave McCormick to simply show his Pa. drivers license?

I believe most voters, Republican or Democrat, want a valid resident to represent them. How can a person who does not primarily live in the state know the needs of the state?

I read McCormick usually shows up to luncheons on his tour bus and meets with 10 to 20 people on average. I told Sam Demarco, the Allegheny County Chairperson, the Central Pa. Auto Auction, in Mill Hall, Pa., is having their classic car sale July 18-20, with a couple thousand people in attendance. I suggested that McCormick stop by, on his way back to his primary home in Connecticut, from the Republican Convention in Wisconsin, to meet voters and produce his Pa. drivers license and put this issue to bed. It was ignored.

Until McCormick proves Pa. residency, our group, Republicans for Pa. Residents, will not vote for Dave McCormick. Principled Republican voters need to decide if they will either.
