I read in the paper that the LH City Planner is behind putting benches around the trees in 10 locations around Lock Haven. The first thought I had was, where are the dogs going to relieve themselves?

It is already disgusting to go to a Lock Haven restaurant and have to walk past dog poop along the trees and sidewalks. It is a shame people come right out of their apartments in the mornings, some still in their pajamas, and walk their dogs to the nearest tree to relieve themselves. And they do not pick it up.

I fear the dog droppings will now be on the sidewalks next to the benches. I never hear of anyone being fined for not picking up after their dogs. Is there an ordinance for that?

I would be a major supporter of pet stations with bags for pet owners to use when walking their dogs. They would be more beneficial in beautifying Downtown Lock Haven.
