You may remove my name from the Veterans Monument!

Jim Hironimus

White Hall

If my name being on the Miles Township Veterans Monument has any impact on the etched stars being replaced on all the Vietnam Veterans names on the Miles Township Veterans Monument, then the township may remove it and replace the etched stars.

I have fought for over ten years to get their etched stars replaced. I have asked other Veterans to get involved, and many are too scared of the implications if they do speak up.

Supposedly, this month, the township will openly discuss this issue. I am not attending because I live out of state.

This issue is all about getting the etched stars replaced for all the Vietnam Veterans that earned that title for their service in a combat zone.

This has never been for me to get an etched star beside my name.

Yes, I spent 20 years on active duty.

Yes, I am a decorated combat veteran and my DD-214 can prove it.

But, if the township wants to remove my name in order to replace all the other Vietnam Veterans etched stars, that is fine with me. Whatever they feel will get the job done to get my friends etched stars replaced.

So, Miles Township, this isn’t about me. I didn’t make the mistakes, the people that originally designed the monument are to blame: Not me.

Now, what excuse do you have for not honoring the Miles Township Vietnam Veterans? This is all on you!

Starting at $3.69/week.
