In one of the most despicable and cruel acts yet carried out by the Trump Administration, ICE agents descended from blackhawk helicopters in Chicago to unleash terror on law-abiding American citizens. Innocent men, women, senior citizens and children were accosted in the middle of the night. Kicking in doors, yanking people, including children, from their beds and zip tying their hands behind their backs, taking them away from their families, holding them in the dark in vans for hours is not even remotely OK. What has happened to our country when we allow our children to be political pawns for Trump’s destructive agenda?

Please, picture these terrified children as your own child or grandchild and realize how very, very wrong this is. This is not meant to make America great. These actions are meant to inspire fear among us and turn America into a police state.

Senator McCormick and Representatives Thompson, Meuser, Perry and the rest of the Republicans should be speaking out against these cruel and illegal actions but instead they are condoning and supporting them. Republicans also voted to prevent the release of the Epstein files, which means they are trying to cover up other horrible crimes committed against children, as well. It is pretty clear that the Republicans in power are willing to sacrifice our children to their political goals. Seriously, is this how we define greatness in America?
