In response to the recent letters to the editor in regards to our current County Treasurer and office personnel.

If there was that much of an issue with the tax sales, you need to ask yourself, Why is it just now being brought to your attention? Is it a true concern? Or is it just a convenient misrepresentation of information right before election?

It is amazing how certain individuals want to point the finger at one person or one office if any little mistakes are made. Let’s talk about the bank reconciliation.

It cannot be completed in a timely manner if we are missing the information or it has been entered incorrectly. We often have to play detective to locate certain entries and then fix them. You are being deceived if you think that the Treasurers office has so much control over everything that goes on in the county finances.

The county has many offices that play a role in what gets accomplished, how it is done and getting it done correctly. Every person has been known to make mistakes as we are all human.

To hear people, talk about how they can make this process more efficient when they have never worked with this computer system, really amazes me.

(This includes Patricia Edwards who left shortly after we starting using this computer system to do bank reconciliations.)

I encourage you to get out and vote for Michelle “Mick” Kunes on Nov. 4 and keep experience working for you.
