Lee, Lucas, Spriggs among Halloween Madness winners as Hidden Valley ends racing season

CLEARFIELD — Jon Lee of Summerville picked up the win in the Super Late Model Special last night at Hidden Valley Speedway as Halloween Madness closed out the 2025 season. Eric Lucas of Clearfield continued his winning ways by topping the Pure Stock main while Latavin Spriggs of Mount Union won the Four Cylinder main.

Other winners included: Skye Neale in the ATV class, Katie Albrino in the ATV Stock class and Steven Shugarts in the UTV Race. Erica Duvall of Robertsdale won the Powder Puff races.

Jon Lee and Logan Zarin led the Super Late Models to Sam McClellan’s green flag with Zarin shooting into the initial lead going into the first corner, but as he went a little high, Lee dove under him and took the lead. A red flag on lap three halted action when Joey Petyak got crossed up and spun while running third and the field had nowhere to go.

The end result saw Brad Benton on top of the Petyak car. After Moshannon Valley EMS and BJW Fire Company personnel checked on everyone it was deemed there were no injuries. However, Benton and Petyak were out for the night.

The restart saw Lee continuing to set the pace, with Colton Flinner and Zarin chasing the leader, but it was near disaster for the leader on lap 27, when while working lapped traffic, a lapped car caused Lee to spin, bringing out the final caution. As the rules state, the caution is charged to the driver who causes it, not necessarily the drivers caught up in it. Thus Lee retained the lead and the lapped car tailed the field.

The final eight laps, Lee had a clear track and left the real battle to second place and beyond. When McClellan’s double checkered flags flew, it was all Lee winning over Flinner, Zarin, John Wayne Weaver and Michael Lake. Heat wins went to Lee, Zarin, Petyak and Denny Fenton.

In the Pure Stock feature, Brent Lee and Eric Lucas filled the front row, with Lee taking the lead and Lucas fell to second and Luke Vrana was in third. The race continued into lapped traffic, and Lucas was reeling in the leader while they worked the slower cars.

On lap 15, Lucas caught Lee and while making a daring three wide move, Lucas was able to take the lead on the lap 16. He was then able to hold off Lee and Joe Skinner the final five laps to get his seventh win of the season and his sixth straight. Lee held off Skinner for second, Ryan Shaffner was fourth and Vrana was fifth. Heat wins went to Lee and Lucas.

Brett Hanley and Chad Lidwell led the Four Cylinders to the green flag as Hanely took the lead and Lidwell was second, but third-place starter Latavin Spriggs took advantage of the “Run what you brung” invitation. Being the only car in the pits with a side board on his car, he was able to sail into the lead on lap two and he never looked back.

The battle for second place back was by far the best of the night, as Lidwell unfortunately began to fade, Hanely, Logan Ganoung, Justin Williamson, Tiana Anderson, Mike Phillipson and many more were in a tight battle for second.

When the final lap was being run, tight racing and some bumping sent Hanley off the track and through the infield, dodging photographer Normal Kyler in the process. When the race was over it was Spriggs taking the win over Gangoung, Williamson, Phillipson and Anderson. Heat wins went to Hanely, Lidwell, Spriggs and Nick Bem while Austin Lowe won the B-main.

Starting at $3.69/week.
