MARK NANCE/For The Express Jersey Shore's Luke Thompson was named all-state in Class AAAA.

Jersey Shore had a trio of players receive all-state honors in Class AAAA for the Pa. Football Writer’s team which was released this week. Of the Bulldogs’ trio, all of them were defensive selections. The Bulldogs’ Bo Sechrist, a senior, was named all-state at linebacker, senior Carson Watkin was all-state at defensive back and senior Luke Thompson was named all-state at defensive line.

Thompson played in all 12 games and recorded 66 solo tackles, 29 assisted (95 total) and averaged an impressive 7.9 tackles per game. He also led the Bulldogs with 20 tackles for loss as he constantly was putting pressure on quarterbacks and running backs in the back field.

Sechrist had 112 total tackles to lead Jersey Shore defensively as he had 75 solo and 37 assisted. He ended the year with 9.3 tackles per game, leading the Bulldogs. Watkins, who also played all 12 games like Sechrist and Thompson, had 24 solo tackles and 10 assisted this past year.
