On Wednesday night, strong defense across the board, a fast second quarter and two double-figure outings propelled the Jersey Shore girls basketball team to a 44-29 win over Danville on the road.

The Bulldogs outscored Danville 16-5 through the second quarter and never allowed the Ironmen to score over nine points in a quarter. Sadie Schall and Gracelyn Frantz each contributed 11 points to lead the way while six Shore players converted multiple field goals.

In boys basketball, how it played out the gate and out the break was the difference for Penns Valley. The Rams scored just five points in the first and allowed 27 in the third, as they fell to Bishop Guilfoyle, 66-41, at home.

Though nine Penns Valley players got on the board, just two went over double figures in Noah Patel and Carter Ironside, who notched ten apiece. Fletcher Ironside added eight.
