The Lock Haven women’s wrestling team closed out the regular season with two dual victories over York (42-5) and No. 13 Eastern (25-24) at Thomas Fieldhouse on Sunday (Feb. 8). Lock Haven finished the season with a seven-dual winning streak and a 15-5 overall record.

The Bald Eagles trailed No. 13 Eastern 24-10 with three bouts to go. Presley McCandlish (160) sparked the late rally with a pin (1:22) over Olivia Krider.

Azariah Moore (180) earned a 1:22 pin over Maya Krieger to bring the Bald Eagles within four before Eastern forfeited at 207 lbs. to clinch the Lock Haven victory.

The Bald Eagles started the day with a dominating 42-5 victory over York.

Maeve Witte (117) made her season debut with a 10-0 tech fall victory over Gisele Ramirez. Jayleah Pletz (124) followed with another 10-0 tech fall win over Kallie Bower.

Isabella DeVito (131), Marissa Rumsey (145), McCandlish (160) and Lindsay Laws (207) all earned pins and Moore (180) earned an 11-0 tech fall.

Before the match Lock Haven honored seniors Trinity Monaghan and Mackenzie DelVecchio as part of the senior day celebration.
