PSU receivers coach leaving for the Packers
STATE COLLEGE — Matt Campbell’s first Penn State coaching staff already has an opening.
Multiple media outlets reported Thursday that receivers coach Noah Pauley is leaving the Nittany Lions to join the Green Bay Packers.
Ironically, the news came one day following a media availability for Penn State’s new coaches.
A candidate for the San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator job in 2024, Pauley discussed potential openings on Wednesday.
“It’s been really cool to have those type of opportunities,” he told Lions 247. “I think the biggest thing for us is just kind of be where you are, and things happen the way they happen. And that’s the biggest thing of I’ve tried to live my life and just make sure that you take care of what you’re doing right now, and then it’ll work out how it’s supposed to work out.”
Pauley was named Football Scoop’s wide receivers coach of the year in 2024 and was being counted on to address a Penn State positional weakness.
“For the last 10 years, that receiver room at Iowa State, that’s been our staple,” Campbell said. “And I know we’re coming to a place where we’ve kind of got to reshape that a little bit and bring that back to life.”
