Bellefonte baseball’s impressive start continued on Wednesday afternoon, as it run-ruled Bellwood-Antis, 13-3, through five innings. The win improved its record to 6-0 while also giving it its fifth run-rule victory.

After compiling one run through the first two innings, the Red Raiders exploded for 12 through the next three. The run was jumpstarted by a third-inning grand slam from Quentin Croutharmel, who finished with a game-high five RBIs.

From the mound, Zach Lehman compiled ten strikeouts and held the Blue Devils scoreless through the first four innings. Catcher Owen Thornsburg had three hits, including a double, and Braeden Fortney and Isaac Gall each reached home twice.

In softball, Bellefonte endured its first defeat in an all-out thriller. Though it managed to tie it at 2-2 in the seventh, Bellwood-Antis responded right back with a run of its own, as the Blue Devils took home the 3-2 win.

Despite the late run, Adrienne Masullo pitched a solid six innings to keep Bellefonte in it, striking out four while scattering seven hits. Offensively, Abby Herr and Riley Santostefano each logged doubles, with Herr and Riley Roan contributing the team lone scores.
