“The girls did it. It’s a new school record today, so we’re excited about that. New facility record course here, so that was exciting,” said Bellefonte track and field head coach Seth Miller when talking about his winning 4×800 girls team. “And then, yeah, we then to come back at the end of the night and take the 4x4s, it was fun.”

In the 400 meter relay, Bellefonte finished third with a mark of 56.28.

Bellefonte captured the 400 thanks to a Aletha Helms time of 1:00.77.

Helms also took the top spot in the long jump winning with a best leap of 17-0 1/2.

Maddison Miller and teammate Emma Harter finished 2-and-3 in discus with throws of 83-1 and 81-0, respectively.

The athletes had to battle through some colder temperatures than the month usually provides. But it seemed to have no effect on his runners.

“It’s A little bit too cool, yeah. A little too cold. I say about 65 is where we want it. So it was a little bit cool yet,” said Miller. “But so that just goes to show how much potential we have, right? We’re running, we had really good performances on a bad day, otherwise. Cold, cold weather day. You know, kids were warming up. They did the right things. There’s a lot of potential. We’re moving the right direction.”

The team will be off until the weekend.

“We go to the Brookville Invitational on Saturday, and then we host senior night, Holidaysburg, and Tyrone next Tuesday,” said Seth Miller.

Starting at $3.69/week.
