Lock Haven softball sweeps Mansfield at home, as Ross tosses no-no

LOCK HAVEN – Talia Ross threw a no-hitter in game one and the Lock Haven softball team belted five home runs on the day in a 8-0, 4-1 sweep of Mansfield in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader at Lawrence Field on Wednesday. With the sweep, the Bald Eagles improve to 11-9 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC East. Mansfield falls to 3-11 on the season and 0-6 in the conference. The Bucktail softball team wasted little time starting its season off on the right track, as a four-run top of the first from its monstrous top of the order set the pace for a 10-6 win at Moshannon Valley on Wednesday afternoon. The Bucktail baseball team had one of its more promising opening-day games in several years as they went on the road and took Cameron County to extra innings, ultimately falling to the home team by a score of 10-9 in nine innings.
