Lock Haven wrestling goes the distance vs. No. 17 West Virginia

LOCK HAVEN — Matt Town USA was on full display on Saturday, as the Lock Haven Bald Eagles played host to the No.17 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers. After scoring a few upset wins early on, the Bald Eagles had the Thomas Fieldhouse alight. But a late surge from WVU quieted the crowd as the Mountaineers escaped hostile territory with a 21-15 team victory. Penn State men’s basketball falls to No. 9 Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Penn State men’s basketball team dropped an 87-64 road game at No. 9 Nebraska inside Pinnacle Bank Arena Saturday afternoon. Freshmen Ivan Juric and Kayden Mingo led the Nittany Lions with 13 points apiece. Juric notched his second double-double of the season by adding 10 rebounds. Lock Haven women secure PSAC East win on road at West Chester

WEST CHESTER — The Lock Haven women’s basketball team traveled to West Chester to face the Golden Rams in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest. Strong first and fourth quarters propelled the Bald Eagles to a 65-53 victory. Lock Haven, which is a perfect 14-0 vs. Eastern Division foes, improved to 20-5 overall and 16-3 in the PSAC. LHU men’s basketball loses to West Chester on the road

WEST CHESTER — The Lock Haven men’s basketball team traveled to West Chester on Saturday and fell to the Golden Rams, 89-67, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East matchup. Lock Haven falls to 9-17 and 5-14 in PSAC East play. West Chester improves to 20-6 and 14-5 in conference play. The Bald Eagles were led by Blake Deegan’s 16 points and his three made triples. Jersey Shore hopes for a few medalists at District 4 championships

Jersey Shore has a handful of wrestlers competing in the Class AAA field that are eyeing top podium spots and berths to the Northeast Class AAA Regional tournament. That includes standouts Gabe Fisher, Louden Spotts, Tobias Morgret and Jon Dincher. All four have put together solid season and are title contenders and for Fisher, he’s been having a great freshman season since his first match of the year.
