STATE COLLEGE — Penn State women’s basketball coach Tanisha Wright announces the signing of graduate transfer Enjulina Gonzalez to her 2026-27 roster. Gonzalez becomes the fifth portal addition for Wright in the off season. LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven softball team came in at No. 8 in the third edition of the NCAA DII Atlantic Region rankings. The NCAA regional rankings are used to determine the teams that qualify for the NCAA Division II Softball Championships. Six of the top-8 rankings are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division, with Charleston (W.V.) and Glenville State making up the other two schools. Bellefonte softball beats Tyrone 5-1

BELLEFONTE — The Bellefonte softball team won its second consecutive win on Thursday, securing a 5-1 win against Tyrone at home a day after beating Clearfield, 4-0. Bellefonte’s Abby Herr threw all seven innings and had six scoreless frames with 11 strikeouts, allowing three hits and only four walks. LOCK HAVEN - The Lock Haven Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Valerie Clarke as the next head coach of the NCAA DI Bald Eagle field hockey program. “Valerie Clarke brings a proven record of leadership, player development and program-building to Lock Haven, and we’re excited to welcome her as the next head coach of our field hockey program,” said Jeff Osgood, Commonwealth University President. Dietrich claims victory at Lincoln Speedway

It is a big week for sprint car fans. The PA Posse vs. The Outlaws are in the Spring sweep. On Tuesday at Lincoln Speedway, the Outlaws were the first to claim victory in the Gettysburg Clash. Michael Buddy Kofoid charged from the second row to the lead on lap 19 ; Gravel swapped the lead back and then Buddy reclaimed it on the restart. Central Mountain athletes have success in dual at Mill Hall vs. South

MILL HALL — Central Mountain and South Williamsport athletes saw success in Mill Hall in a dual meet between the two schools. Team scores were not made available. Central Mountain junior Shayden Hill won both the 100 and 200 events. In the 100, Hill ran a time of 11.52, beating out teammate Ricky Rorhbach by 0.20 seconds. Hill won the 200 in 23.52 as teammate Caden Peterson was second in 24.97 and South Williamsport sophomore Trent Rogers took third in 25.26.
