LOCK HAVEN — Looking for “luxury dog boarding” for your furry companions?
If so, Sweet Dreams Groom and Board at 168 Sunrise Lane, Mill Hall, may be just what you are looking for.
Sweet Dreams is a family-owned business that will “let your pet enjoy its vacation as much as you do.”
“As a full service dog care facility, we offer dog boarding and grooming in a clean, comfortable, and loving environment, in a state-of-the-art facility that ensures the health and safety of all the canine we care for. We offer affordable prices and a variety of both grooming and boarding packages to fit your dog’s needs. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every dog is happy, healthy, and comfortable, while also maintaining a good relationship with his/her owners so that vacation times may be as stress-free as possible,” said Elmer Esh, who owns the business with his wife, Marsha.
Sweet Dreams offers clean, odor-free accommodations that include a state-of-the-art ventilation system and 19 climate-controlled suites with central air conditioning in the summer and radiant in-floor heating in the winter.
Each dog will enjoy their own separate suite, giving them a safe and truly personal experience, Esh said. Staff members live in the house adjacent to Sweet Dreams, providing indirect, overnight supervision, and the fire alarm system is set up to ring right into the local fire department.
According to Esh, accomodations include neat and clean 6- by 13- foot or 4- by 13-foot suites, along with elevated bed and daily housekeeping services for each guest.
The facility has its own kitchen, along with “top of the line dog food,” such as Nutrisource or Tuffy’s Gold, Esh said. They are also able to cater to a dog’s special diet by feeding them meals the owner provides, along with administering needed medication.
“Each guest will have at least five outdoor potty breaks per day, beginning early in the morning and ending at bedtime,” he explained. “There is superior air ventilation, keeping air fresh and clean all day, every day.
Play includes two group play sessions, split between morning and night, along with one midday recess in their play yards with carefully selected playmates.
Esh says that Sweet Dreams is “every dog’s dream vacation!”
To clean the facility, the Esh family uses pet-safe germicide disinfectant to remove virus and bacteria agents in each pet enclosure to ensure each guest arrives to a clean and dry suite, along with cleaning walls and scrubbing all floors and drains and spot cleaning if your dog has soiled in its room.
“We daily sweep and vacuum enough hair to create a medium-sized dog,” he joked.
“We pick up pet feces as soon as we see it and dispose of it in a pit designed for animal waste,” he said. “We spray down the playgrounds and potty yards. We provide overnight boarding guests a morning tidy of their room by cleaning up any bedding, removing hair, disinfecting commonly handled door closures, and ensuring clean water dishes each morning.”
According to Esh, their standard is to create a clean odor-free environment daily, despite the pet hair, odor dander, and dirt that animals create.
“Our technicians work hard daily to create a shining environment for your pet,” he finished.
