Warm weather should bring out voters

LOCK HAVEN — The precincts are ready and the weather is pleasant — There’s no reason for local voters to ignore Democracy today.

“We are ready for the primary election,” Voter Registration Director Maria Boileau said. “The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. so there’s plenty of time to cast a ballot.”

The local election is open to any of Clinton County’s registered Republicans and Democrats, to vote for their party’s ballot,” Boileau said. “Knock on wood, but it doesn’t look like there’s going to be any problems.”

A list of all the county’s municipal ballots can be viewed on the county’s web site — www.clintoncountypa.com –Interested parties can follow the drop-down menu to navigate to the voter registration page.

“If there’s any confusion, we will happily direct citizens to where they will vote,” Boileau said. “You can call 570-893-4019 and we’ll answer any of your questions. The individual ballots for each municipality are also on-line, and are available at each precinct.”

After the polls close, the results will be posted on the county’s website.

There are 9,045 Clinton County Democratic Party members and 10,300 Republican Party members eligible to vote in this year’s primary.

“Municipal elections are very important,” Boileau said. “In this election you will find choices for county coroner, treasurer, district judges, school directors and many local municipal positions … These are the positions with a high degree of impact. The positions are the ones closest to home and represent local Democracy at its most basic.”
