Hear the Birds Hearing Aid Center to move into Haven Place; opening date is Oct. 5

LOCK HAVEN -- Jeff Bayliff, owner of Hear the Birds Hearing Aid Center, has announced the business is moving from 306 N. Grove St. in Lock Haven to Suite One at Haven Place, 24 Cree Drive, the former UPMC-Lock Haven hospital.
The new office will be in the lobby, immediately to the right, in the former admissions and registration area. From the front entrance, it occupies the space behind the three windows on the right.
Bayliff Hearing Services, LLC began in 2010 as a private vendor within two large Blair County eye-care practices.
After Jeff married Tanya Boone in August 2014 and returned to Lock Haven, he began operating as Hear the Birds Hearing Aid Center from a card table in the lobby of Tanya's salon. Five years ago, the business was relocated to Grove Street.
"The business grew dramatically in my small, 200-square-foot office on Grove Street, and I now see 14 to 16 patients a day. I recently turned 71, and my succession plan is to hire a professional who will become a partner and eventually the owner. I plan to work for that person as long as I can," Jeff said about the move. "I love what I do and look forward to working each day, so I expect to remain involved with Hear the Birds Hearing Aid Center for many years. The new location gives me room to add another professional, a receptionist, and a waiting area."
Haven Place, the former Lock Haven hospital, houses the UPMC emergency room at the west end of the building.
Jeff said, "The site offers a great deal of excellent office space suitable for medical, health-related, insurance, and nearly any nonmanufacturing venture."

"I began looking in early summer and first considered this property as a rental option in July," Jeff said. "County Commissioner Angela Harding was especially helpful in communicating with Ben Kurland, owner and CEO of Allaire Medical Services, which owns Haven Place. Harding and Kurland developed a working relationship when his company purchased Susqueview Extended Care and later the hospital."
"All my previous landlords have been local owners whom I could meet face to face. Because these owners are in New Jersey, Angela's assistance -- along with Nathan White's -- was especially helpful in completing the lease," Jeff added.
Jeff will move the business on Saturday, Sept. 26, and reopen at 24 Cree Drive on Monday, Oct. 5. He thanks everyone who helped with painting, Mike Brown for the signage, church members who assisted with the move, and the hundreds of patients who have trusted him over the years. "My phone number will remain 570-748-5444, and my website is still www.hearthebirds.com," he said. "I will continue to see patients by appointment, and most importantly, I am not raising my prices. I still consistently offer the region's lowest prices on top-technology digital hearing aids. From the beginning, I was determined to build my practice with one friend at a time, and that approach has continued to work. I am very excited to see what the Lord has next at 24 Cree Drive!"
