BENV Kiwanis hold Santa’s Workshop

LOCK HAVEN — The Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valley’s held their annual Santa’s Workshop event earlier this month. This annual event is held each year in December at Central Mountain Middle School and is completely free to the community.
“This year’s theme was The Polar Express. Everyone seemed to have a great time.” said Linda Walker, Kiwanian and Club President.
Laughter and smiles filled the gymnasium as kids spent time with their families creating Polar Express themed crafts. Holiday music and festive decorations filled the room and more than a few people were caught dancing around. The Conductor strolled around handing out golden tickets and encouraged the children to make their way down the hall to meet Mr. & Mrs. Claus in the cafeteria.
“Excitement lit up faces, children and adults alike!” said Amy Strong, Kiwanian.
Each child received raffle tickets in their welcome bags upon entering the event. It was with obvious excitement that they enjoyed perusing the raffle table in hopes of winning something fun! Those who brought a non-perishable food item donation were given an extra raffle ticket. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to the winners! A book was given to each kiddo as they made their way down the hall to meet Mr. & Mrs Claus. While there, they wrote letters to Santa, sipped hot chocolate, ate cookies and lined up to put their letters in the mailbox to the North Pole. Mr. & Mrs. Claus welcomed all who wished to visit with them.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible! They look forward to seeing you next year!
