Valerie Wynn, of Sweet Sunrise Bakery, will be selling assorted Christmas cookie trays and handcrafted chocolates at Calico Creek on Tuesday, Dec. 23, until 4 p.m. Prices vary between $1.50 and $35 and will benefit the Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Va. Snowmobile Safety Course

Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club’s youth snowmobile safety course will be conducted at the club’s lodge on Jan. 3, 2026. Parents are to accompany their children to registration so that the required forms may be completed. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; class starts promptly at 9 a.m. and will end no-later-than 3 p.m. Adults are encouraged to participate. The class is free and the Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club will provide lunch. For those traveling to attend this safety class, lodging at the club is available — bring your own sleeping bag (or blankets) and pillow. Pre-registration is required.
