ASHTON PETERS/FOR THE EXPRESS A group of competitors show off their muscles at the seventh anniversary event for Full Body Health & Wellness Center.
LOCK HAVEN — Full Body Health & Fitness Center, owned and operated by Lori and Brian Hoy, recently celebrated its seventh anniversary with a highly anticipated weightlifting competition on Saturday, July 5.
The event brought together athletes, supporters and local businesses for a day dedicated to strength, sportsmanship and community.
Competitors of all experience levels showcased months of dedication and training, pushing themselves to new personal bests in squat, bench press, and deadlift.
The energy throughout the facility was electric, as attendees filled the gym to cheer on friends, family and fellow lifters.
Competition

Highlights
Two athletes earned the highest honors based on DOTS scores, a coefficient used to compare strength across body weights. They were Gabrielle Sawko, who scored 323.98; and David Fillman, who scored 440.41.
In addition to the overall champions, top performers were recognized in individual lift categories:
Best Squat
— Female: Tracy Haas-Ungard with 265 pounds

— Male: Ross Sherman with 600 pounds
— Honorable mention: David Fillman and John Mayes, who also successfully squatted 600 pounds.
Best Bench Press
— Female: Gabrielle Sawko with 155 pounds
— Male: Alan LaMey with 410 pounds

Best Deadlift
— Female: Hannah Cary with 315 pounds
— Male: Alan LaMey with 560 pounds
Each lift was met with resounding applause, highlighting the supportive and spirited atmosphere the gym has become known for.
The success of the event was bolstered by the contributions of several local partners. Special thanks were extended to: Dr. Laura of Fresh Start Chiropractic and Wellness Center for her continued support of athlete wellness; Mama Martina’s Food Truck for providing refreshments to competitors and spectators; and AP Photos for documenting the day’s highlights through professional photography.
