Public review of Benner Pike to be conducted

30-day public review and comment period opened

STATE COLLEGE — The Centre County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO) invites the public to review and comment on the draft Benner Pike (PA 150) Land Inventory and Corridor Study during a 30‒day public review and comment period that runs through Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The Benner Pike (PA 150) Land Inventory and Corridor Study examines current and future transportation needs through the 2055 horizon year along a 2.7‒mile segment of PA 150, from Myrtle Street in Spring Township to Penntech Drive in Benner Township, just south of Interstate 99.

The draft study includes recommendations to improve corridor operations, safety, access management, land use coordination and multimodal considerations, with public input helping to refine the study before final adoption by the CCMPO, the organization said in a press release.

As part of the public comment period, the CCMPO will host public open house sessions to share the draft recommendations and gather feedback directly from residents, businesses and other stakeholders:

The open house sessions will take place Thursday, April 30, from 3-4:30 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. at the Benner Township Municipal Building, 1224 Buffalo Run Road, Bellefonte.

The open house sessions will provide an opportunity to learn about the study process, ask questions and offer comments on proposed recommendations.

The draft study recommendations will are available for review on the web at www.crcog.net/TransportationStudies, and in hard copy at the following locations:

— Centre Regional Planning Agency (CRPA), 2643 Gateway Drive, Suite 4, State College.

— Centre County Planning and Community Development Office (CCPCDO), Willowbank Office Building, 420 Holmes Street, Suite 340, Bellefonte.

Comments may be submitted through May 13, 2026 via the website, by email to gkausch@crcog.net or in person at the April 30 open house.

The Benner Pike (PA 150) Land Inventory and Corridor Study is being led by the CCMPO in coordination with local municipalities, PennDOT and community stakeholders. The final study report is anticipated to be completed in summer 2026, according to the CCMPO.
