Violation of PFA

RENOVO — Renovo police have charged 39-year-old Clayton Policastro, currently incarcerated in state prison and formerly of Albion, Pa., for violating a protection from abuse order against a Renovo resident on April 27.

Police said Policastro is scheduled to appear before the Clinton County Court of Common Pleas.

According to police, Policastro has previously been charged by Renovo Police and convicted with violating this same PFA on three separate dates in 2024.

Police said Policastro has been sentenced to additional time in jail on those prior offenses.

Police pursuit

HOUSERVILLE — On May 13, on Houserville Road in College Township, state police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on an individual who allegedly fled, according to state police at Rockview.

The pursuit lasted several miles before a stop was induced by spike strips, police said.

The driver was taken into custody and lodged at the Centre County Jail, police added.

Fleeing and eluding

MILL HALL — Woodward Township police attempted a traffic stop on June 3, when the operator, William James Yost, fled on a motorcycle.

Police said the pursuit continued from Woodward Township into the Beech Creek Township area.

Yost then lost control of the motorcycle when attempting to negotiate a turn and wrecked, police said.

Yost was taken into custody and subsequently incarcerated in the Clinton County prison on a probation detainer, police said.

According to police, charges of fleeing to avoid arrest and associated violations are to be filed in the immediate future.

Assistance in this pursuit was made by the Lock Haven City Police Department and the state police at Lamar.

Harassment

RENOVO — State police at Lamar were called to a home along Erie Avenue in Renovo on May 27 for reports of harassment.

Through an investigation, police determined an altercation occurred between a 44-year-old Renovo woman and 70-year-old Renovo woman, where both individuals claimed to be struck by the other, police said.

Charges against both were filed through District Judge Frank Mills’ office.

Two charged with harassment

DUNNSTABLE — Two teenagers were cited for harassment following an incident along Big Plum Run Road in Dunnstable Township on May 27, state police at Lamar said.

At about 4:14 p.m., police were called to a physical altercation in the area involving a 17-year-old Lock Haven female, a 15-year-old Lock Haven male and 67-year-old Lock Haven woman, police said.

All parties had unwanted physical contact and the two teens were charged with summary harassment through District Judge Keith Kibler’s office.

Identity theft

UNIONVILLE — A 77-year-old man and 75-year-old woman in Union Township reported an identity theft on April 9 at a residence along Bush Hollow Road, according to state police at Rockview.

The incident remains under investigation.

Truck strikes cow

UNIONVILLE — Earl L. Burns Jr., 46, of Julian, was traveling north on South Eagle Valley Road around 5 a.m. on May 16 when he struck a cow that had escaped from a nearby farm, according to state police at Rockview.

The 2018 Ford F-250 SuperCab was towed from the scene and no injuries were reported.

Found firearms

MILLHEIM — On the afternoon of May 18, multiple long guns were found in various conditions and with visible damage after police were alerted to a report of found firearms in a wooded area near North Street in Millheim Borough, according to state police at Rockview.

Strangulation

HUSTON — Norman Marchione, 72, of Julian, was arrested for strangulation and harassment after a verbal domestic dispute turned physical prior to police arrival, according to state police at Rockview.

Troopers responded around 4 p.m. on May 12 to the 1400 block of Allegheny Street in Huston Township, where the victim was identified as a 72-year-old woman from out of state.

Failed U-turn

WOODWARD — A 2014 RAM 2500 became stuck down a roadside embankment off the south side of South Route 45 after the driver attempted a U-turn into the eastbound lane while traveling west, according to state police at Rockview.

The vehicle was pulled back onto the roadway and driven from the scene, police said.

The driver was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

BELLEFONTE — Around 2 a.m. on May 18, PSP Rockview responded to a report of a possible domestic dispute in Benner Township. During the investigation, troopers located and seized a glass smoking device containing burnt marijuana in the area of Butler Drive, according to state police at Rockview.

The domestic dispute was verbal, and no injuries were reported or observed, police said.

PFA violation

BLANCHARD — Wesley Snyder, 38, of Flemington, was charged with violating a protection from abuse order on the afternoon of May 22 at the 100 block of Primrose Lane in Liberty Township, according to state police at Rockview.

Medical emergency causes

multi-vehicle crash

MILESBURG — An 80-year-old Fleming man is believed to have suffered a medical emergency while driving, leading to a multi-vehicle crash around 5 p.m. on May 21 in Boggs Township, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said Charles J. Ungar was operating a 2014 Toyota RAV4 on South Eagle Valley Road at its intersection with Sunset Acres when the incident occurred.

Ungar’s vehicle struck a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Troy D. Harrison, 33, of Lock Haven. The Outlander came to a controlled stop off the right side of the roadway, police said.

The RAV4 then continued off the road, crossed a grass median and struck a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Dana M. Antonuccio, 50, of Julian, in the oncoming lane, police said. The vehicle kept moving, taking out about 50 yards of chain-link fence before overturning onto its right side.

Ungar had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle and was transported to UPMC Williamsport for treatment of suspected serious injuries. Neither Harrison nor Antonuccio was injured, police said.

Detached wheel causes

three-vehicle crash

SPRING MILLS — A vehicle lost a wheel while in motion, triggering a three-vehicle crash on North Pennsylvania Avenue in Potter Township, state police at Rockview said.

Police said a 2004 Toyota Highlander operated by Medardo Ticona Gonzales, 51, of Grantsville, Md., lost its left front wheel before coming to a controlled rest partially in the northbound lane.

The detached wheel was then struck by a southbound 2015 Subaru Outback driven by Tracy D. Jozefick, 51, of Pottersdale. Police said Jozefick braked abruptly, causing a 2013 Mazda CX-5 operated by Ashlynn A. Park, 19, of Bellefonte, to rear-end the Subaru.

All three vehicles sustained at least minor damage, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Single vehicle crash

SNYDERTOWN –A Bellefonte man was charged following a single-vehicle crash on Snydertown Road in Walker Township, state police at Rockview said.

Tyler M. Jackson, 28, was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic after the crash, which occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on May 21, police said.

Jackson was uninjured.

DUI Crash

BLANCHARD — A crash believed to have been caused by driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol occurred May 11 in Liberty Township, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said a 2000 Mazda 5 and a 2009 Lincoln MKZ were involved in the crash around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Marsh Creek Road and North Eagle Valley Road in Liberty Township.

No further details were released.
