On Oct. 8, at 6 p.m., the walk will be at the Woodward Township Walkway. Meet at the church to walk across the Jay Street Bridge to the walkway.

News from the Pathway pews
MCELHATTAN — Pathway to Christ Church has Bible Study every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the social hall at Pathway to Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Everyone is welcome to join us to study the word and share good fellowship together.
Pathway to Christ Church is currently collecting boxes of Cheerios that will be given to the Jersey Shore Care and Share food pantry at St. John Lutheran Church. The food pantry has a goal to get 900 boxes of Cheerios before the end of October. Your donation of boxes of Cheerios can be brought to the church on Sunday morning or on Tuesday evening during the Bible study. Together, we can provide this breakfast food for many local families that utilize the food pantry.
Come volunteer with us at the Food Bank in Williamsport! Carpooling is available from the church parking lot, leaving at 4:30 p.m. We help at the food bank on the third Thursday of each month — so the next food bank would be on Oct. 16. Last month our volunteers packed 320 boxes of food for hungry families! You can become a part of this outreach with us. If you’re interested in learning more, just send an email to bpeters388@comcast.net. Volunteering warms the heart and you’ll be happier for having done something to help others!
Outreach activities are planned for October, including a (curbside pickup) chicken bbq meal on Oct. 11 and a Pumpkin Patch and Fall Hayride set for Oct. 19. More info will be coming!
Yarn Collection
MARSH CREEK — Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church collected new and used yarn that is being donated to the Prayer Shawl Ministry for their needleworkers to use. Three ladies of the church are actively involved with the Prayer Shawl Ministry and were leading the campaign to collect the yarn.
THANK YOU for those who have already donated yarn. We will take yarn all year long if you just want to give us a call. Whether it be new skeins, partial skeins or even small balls of yarn, the needleworkers can use it!
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is focusing on making patriotic afghans and lap robes during the month of November in celebration of our veterans. If you’d like to provide skeins of red, white and blue yarn, or Walmart gift cards for us to buy the skeins locally, just call Rhoda at 814-625-2760 for local pickups.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, beginning at noon. More needleworkers, those who crochet or knit, are invited to join the PSM group.
At our Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting in October we will be sorting out items and placing them on the pews for Pastor Susan Champion to say a blessing over all of the items and for those who will be receiving them before they are bagged and readied for the bikers to deliver.
The public is then invited to come to the church on Saturday, Oct. 4, when the bikers of the Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motor Cycle Club come to the church for fellowship time and brunch before mounting their cycles (and pickup trucks) to embark on their annual Knit N’ Run, a full day of delivering items to nursing homes and hospitals stretching from State College to Renovo and all the way to Geisinger in Danville.
Many residents living in personal care homes or nursing homes and patients in hospitals are presented with a lap robe, a small afghan or a prayer shawl during the Knit N’ Run. The bikers take time to visit with folks to brighten their days along with presenting the small tokens of friendship and comfort.
Come see the Harley riders show their loving and tender sides as they visit with the PSM needleworkers during the morning fellowship and brunch on Oct. 4. There will be light snacks for everyone to enjoy.
The church has a ramp, is handicap accessible and is located at 111 Main St., in Mill Hall, with plenty of free parking to the rear of the church. Call Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112 for more info on the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
