KCSD shelter-in-place lifted
MILL HALL — At approximately 10:20 a.m. today, KCSD officials notified parents and community members that a shelter-in-place protocol at Central Mountain High school, implemented earlier this morning, has been lifted. Students who leave for dual enrollment, co-op education, etc., are able to resume those activities, according to the school.
Earlier this morning, CMHS received a Safe2Say notification regarding a non-specific threat. Out of an abundance of caution, school officials immediately implemented a shelter-in-place protocol.
During the protocol, students and staff continued with their normal school day inside the building; however, no individuals were permitted to enter or exit the facility. The measure was strictly precautionary while the situation was assessed, the district said.
An increased presence of school personnel and law enforcement was on campus as authorities investigated the report. At this time, no specific or credible details regarding the threat have been confirmed.
The safety and well-being of students and staff remain the district’s top priority, school officials said.
