LHPD search for suspects in home invasion, assault

LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven City Police are investigating a break-in that led to the assault of two residents along the 500 Block of West Church Street on July 28. According to a release from city police, the home invasion occurred at about 1 a.m. where two suspects entered a home and assaulted a 20-year-old man and 20-year-old woman. Both victims required medical treatment and several items were taken from the home by the suspects, police said. Police are following several leads and were assisted on the scene by the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Unit.

Firefighters battle huge house fire

Firefighters from at least two counties are on the scene of a house fire at a large property owned by the St. John family just off Brewery Hollow Road in Woodward Township. Upon arrival at the scene, flames were shooting through the roof. Multiple fire companies were dispatched after the alarm about 12:15 and 12:30 p.m. It was unclear if anyone was home at the time, however, The Express reporter observed people using a garden hose to try to douse the flames and to get a hold of a dog on the property. MILL HALL - A majority of Keystone Central School Board members appear poised to approve a 3.83% property tax hike next fiscal year to help pay for more staffing, more school safety strategies and higher health insurance costs.
