BAHS on lockdown due to threat

BELLEFONTE - Bellefonte Area High School is currently on lockdown due to alleged threats. According to an email sent to BASD parents', the school was notified by police on Wednesday morning of the potential threat. "We were just notified by local police of a threat against the high school," BAHS Principal Mike Fedisson said. "Right now, the school is locked down and police are on site clearing the building." Fedisson said the district will continue to send updates as they become available.

Officials: ‘Swatting calls’ may be source behind area school threats

BELLEFONTE - Area department of emergency services are aware of several 'swatting calls' in the area that may have lead to multiple lockdowns at various school districts. KCSD sets public meeting on school safety

MILL HALL - The Keystone Central School Board has schedule its first public meeting to address school safety in the wake of incidents at school where students have felt threatened and, in one reported case, where a student was attacked. First Quality Enterprises has announced the acquisition of a pulp mill located in Dryden, Ontario. The pulp mill was previously owned by Domtar Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Paper Excellence Group. PennDOT temporarily reduces I-80 speed limits in Clinton County

LOCK HAVEN - Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on Interstate 80 in Clinton County. PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 55 mph on I-80 between exits 178/Lock Haven and 192/Jersey Shore. Speed limits restored on I-80 in Clearfield, Clinton Counties

PennDOT has lifted the speed limit and right-lane-only commercial vehicle restrictions that were in place on potions of Interstate 80 in Clearfield and Clinton counties. Due to the winter storm impacting the region, speed limits were reduced earlier Wednesday to 55 mph along the following stretches of I-80: - Between exits 101/DuBois-Penfield and 123/Woodland-Shawville in Clearfield County - Between exits 178/Lock Haven and 192/Jersey Shore in Clinton County.
