Primary Elections Matter

REBECCA SHERRIN

Pittsburgh

If you’re worried about the future of our country, and the future of democracy, you’re already planning to vote in November. But, it’s just as important for you to vote in the upcoming Democratic primary.

Vote for Democrats if you value:

— Voting rights: Now and in the future; this means having your vote counted

— Access to quality health care, including reproductive care

— Individual rights, including women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights

— Workers’ rights

— Gun safety

— Social and economic justice

— Financial security

— Global security, including aid to Ukraine and peace in the Mideast

— Immigration reform, with respect for immigrants and their contributions

And, most of all, a leader who acts in your best interests–and in the interests of our country.

If those are your values, please vote on April 23 (or before that if voting by mail) and show that you are united with other Democrats behind Joe Biden and all that the Democratic party stands for.

You can be sure that MAGA Republicans will vote. We must make clear that we outnumber them–and that Pennsylvanians will not allow a would-be dictator, or the party that kowtows to him, to hijack our fragile democracy. We cannot let Trump emulate the strongmen he adores; we must vote to show that Americans do NOT want Christian nationalism and nondemocratic practices taking root here!

Vote in the Democratic primary on April 23 to preserve democracy and democratic values.
