Very few boats at the Floating Stage Concerts

William Johnson

Lock Haven

I have been attending concerts at the floating stage in Lock Haven for many years. As the years went by, I noticed fewer and fewer boats at the concerts, and started to ask some questions and talk to some boaters.

First of all I noticed this year the PA Fish and Boat Commission will put the boat in at the Woodward Township boat launch on Sunday night between 8-8:30 p.m. and start to pull over boats for any reason.

They do not patrol the river all day long, just on concert days, and not until the concert is just about over. The boaters I talked to said they will not go to the concerts because of this. The Fish and Boat look for any little thing they can find and give a ticket.

I don’t see the Lock Haven Police sitting all around the Old Corner on band nights just to arrest people who are there to enjoy themselves.

If the PA Fish and Boat wants to patrol the river this is okay — not just on concert days and at 8-8:30 p.m. at night.

Starting at $3.69/week.
