CM’s McKeague, BEA’s Albright earn Pennsylvania softball all-state honors

Bald Eagle Area’s softball team came just shy of winning the state championship in Class AA this year, and individually, Sierra Albright was a large part of that team’s success.
Central Mountain saw a ton of success as well as Adalynn McKeague powered the Wildcats throughout the season.
So it’s no surprise that both Albright and McKeague earned first-team honors as pitchers on the Pennsylvania softball all-state teams in Class AA and 5A, respectively.
McKeague propelled Central Mountain to a 16-4 record and helped the Wildcats defeat Hollidaysburg in the District 6 Class 5A championship game. In the 20 games played, McKeague pitched in 18 contests with a 15-3 record. Two of those three losses were in the early part of the season before Central Mountain started a 10-game win streak and won 15 of its final 17.
McKeague had an impressive 1.56 ERA and had two shutouts.
Albright was a sophomore this past season and helped the Eagles finish 20-3, 8-1 within the conference. She had more than 270 strikeouts and 10 shutouts. She threw a shutout in the Class AA semifinals against a potent South Williamsport team, striking out 15 batters in that state semifinal.
Albright was joined on the first team by teammate Ava Stere, a first-team first baseman in Class AA. Bald Eagle Area’s Taylor Habovick was a second-team outfielder.
Central Mountain’s Madison Hardy was a second-team first baseman for the Wildcats and Katelyn Bowman earned second-team honors as a third baseman.
Jersey Shore’s Jocelyn McCracken was a first-team selection in Class AAAA as a utility player, the only Bulldog to garner honors.
Bucktail had three players earn Class A all-state honors. Lola English was a second-team selection at outfield for the Bucks and Makenzie Wagner was a second-team utility player selection.
Bucktail’s Eva Sockman was a third-team choice at third-base in Class A.
