MILL HALL – Ken Duke Jr. of Winfield returned to victory lane for the eighth time in his career in the RaceSaver Sprint Car division. Denny Fourney of Lock Haven was victorious in the pro stocks, Quinn Roberts won the 270 micros and Larry Beachel of New Columbia won the four cylinder stock cars.
Ken Duke started alongside Reed Thompson for the start of the 25-lap sprint car main event. Duke took the early lead with Evertt’s Jarrett Cavalet quickly advancing from this sixth starting spot up to the second position. By lap ten, Duke was leading Cavalet with Matt Tebbs, Christian Rumsey and Timmy Bittner in the top five.
The leaders encountered lapped traffic by lap 11, which slowed Duke’s momentum allowing Cavalet and Tebbs to close in on the race leader.
By the midway point of the race, the top two of Duke and Cavalet had a lapped car separating them from the rest of the top five including Tebbs, Rumsey and Bittner. On lap 22, Tebbs challenged Cavalet and took the runner up position. As the leaders continued to navigate lapped traffic, Tebbs was closing in on Duke.
On the final lap, Bittner spun in turn two to bring out the caution. The one-lap shootout provided Tebbs and Cavalet with a chance to challenge for the lead on the final lap. Duke flawlessly restarted the race and kept Tebbs at bay to cruise to the victory.
Tebbs settled for second, Rumsey moved into third with Cavalet and Dale Schweikart rounding out the top five. Sixth through tenth were John Walp, Colby Womer, Reed Thompson, Austin Greenland and Kolby Weaver.
Mike Gray and Ronnie Ergott started on the front row of the pro stock main event. Third-place starter, Denny Fourney charged to the front by the completion of lap one. Fifth-place starter Cory Long quickly moved to second place. By lap five, Fourney was leading Long, Larry Knight, AY Schilling and Noah Kissinger. A caution occurred on lap ten slowing the field.
Fourney led the field back to the green flag. Two laps later, Long slowed and came to a stop on the speedway to bring out another caution. Fourney once again held off the challenge, this time of Larry Knight and AJ Hoffman to lead the final laps to the victory. Knight, Hoffman, Logan Hile and Noah Kissinger completed the top five.
Sixth through tenth were Marc Bitler, James Bilger, Rich Fye, AY Schilling and Mike Gray.
Garrison Zook led the opening laps of the 270 micro sprint feature. On lap six, Tyler Clowes stopped on the speedway to bring out the caution. Following the restart, Quinn Roberts made a pass for the lead. By lap ten, Roberts was leading Zook, Mason McAndrew and Mac Wert. McAndrew took the second position on lap eleven. Roberts led the final laps to earn the win over McAndrew, Zook, Wert and Michael Petock.
Sixth through tenth were Jillian Maurer, Hunter Zimmerman, Chase Roberts, Andrew Petock and Colton Guiher.
Larry Beachel quickly raced to the front of the four cylinder feature to lead the first circuit. Garrett Lucas ran in second place with Scott Englert in third. The top three remained unchanged throughout the entire 12 lap event. Beachel’s win was the second of the week, as he also claimed Tuesday night’s event. Terry Karichner and Coty Maines completed the top five.
Sixth through ten were Andrew Ricketts, Kevin Trimpey, Alyssa Snook, Troy Bennett and Summer Beachel.
The Clinton County Speedway will feature a double-header with events on both Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the RaceSaver sprints cars, pro stocks, 270 micros, and four cylinders will comprise the four-division show.
On Saturday, the 410 sprint cars return to the speedway for the annual Phil Walter Classic paying $6,300 to the winner. In addition, the 270 micro sprint and four cylinders will be on the card.
