Bellefonte softball beats Tyrone 5-1

BELLEFONTE — The Bellefonte softball team won its second consecutive win on Thursday, securing a 5-1 win against Tyrone at home a day after beating Clearfield, 4-0. Bellefonte’s Abby Herr threw all seven innings and had six scoreless frames with 11 strikeouts, allowing three hits and only four walks. It was Bellefonte’s third straight win and the first time the Red Raiders have gone above .500 since early April. Bellefonte fought for nine walks and both teams were limited to just three hits. LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven softball team came in at No. 8 in the third edition of the NCAA DII Atlantic Region rankings. The NCAA regional rankings are used to determine the teams that qualify for the NCAA Division II Softball Championships. Six of the top-8 rankings are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division, with Charleston (W.V.) and Glenville State making up the other two schools. STATE COLLEGE — Penn State women’s basketball coach Tanisha Wright announces the signing of graduate transfer Enjulina Gonzalez to her 2026-27 roster.
