It's been a challenging start for central Pennsylvania racing between the cold and the rain and last weekend was no exception. Selinsgrove was the best choice for sprint cars to get their race in.  Mark Smith picked up his first win of the year over a fast closing Chase Dietz as Dietz settled for second, followed by Austin Bishop, Ryan Taylor and Jody Lehman. Lock Haven baseball falls to Clarion on road

DUBOIS - The Lock Haven baseball team returned to Clarion to finish its rain-shortened contest from earlier in the season and fell 9-2 to conclude a four-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) series on Tuesday. Clarion built a 5-0 lead through three innings on March 22 before the game was called due to rain. Sugar Valley and Muncy got into a high-scoring affair which saw the Phoenix secure a 24-13 win in five innings. Both Sugar Valley and Muncy had an inning where they scored 10 or more runs. Sugar Valley jumped out to an 11-1 lead after the first inning before Muncy scored 10 in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit to 18-12. Shore earns top seed in this year’s team tourney

The District 4 team tennis tournament will get underway on Tuesday with a handful of preliminary matches. That includes South Williamsport, who will host Selinsgrove at 4 p.m. in a play-in match. Jersey Shore has the top seed in the tournament and the Bulldogs will host the winner of the Selinsgrove/South Williamsport match. That match is scheduled for Thursday, at 4 p.m..
