LHU softball endures sweep vs. Shepherd to open busy stretch

The Lock Haven softball team kicked off a stretch of three home games in as many days by hosting Shepherd in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East doubleheader at Lawrence Field on Sunday afternoon. Jersey Shore has seven athletes reach district qualifying standards in tri-meet

Jersey Shore hosted a tri-meet with Montgomery and South Williamsport and had a ton of success in both the girls and boys competition. On the girls side, the Bulldogs (104) beat Montgomery (55) and the Mounties (29) convincingly. CALIFORNIA — Lock Haven dropped a doubleheader to California (Pa.) on the road, losing the first contest, 7-1, and dropping the second, 9-4. The Bald Eagles move to 4-19 overall and 1-6 in the West, while the Vulcans improve to 16-7 on the year and 7-1 in league play. The Lock Haven baseball team hosted a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West doubleheader against visiting California (Pa.), dropping a pair of high-scoring affairs, 11-6 and 15-9. Lock Haven falls to 4-16 (1-4), while the Vulcans improve to 14-7 (5-1). The Vulcans used a six-run third inning to jump out to a comfortable lead early in game one. Jersey Shore edged out Wellsboro, 3-2, in boys tennis. Ryder Fink won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0 against Luke Rothermel. At No. 3 singles, Ezra Paulhamus beat Wellsboro’s RJ Doughtie, 6-0, 6-2.
