CLEVELAND — The Lock Haven men’s wrestling team opened the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championship today (Thursday, March 19) and Wyatt Henson led the way with a victory in round one. Henson (141) was one of four Bald Eagles to compete in Session 1 as Gable Strickland (133), Lucas Kapusta (149) and Avery Bassett (174) also kicked off their journeys at the National Championship. Throughout Jersey Shore’s rich wrestling history, the program has produced numerous victories as a team and has sent many to districts, regionals and states. Two main wrestlers throughout the program’s history stand at the forefront: Dan Muthler and Sam Eck. Muthler wrestled for the Jersey Shore Bulldogs from 1969-71 with 45 career wins. The Lock Haven baseball team took on the Atlantic Region’s eighth-ranked Shippensburg today (Mar. 15) in a non-conference doubleheader at Watkins Field. Blaire Balestrini hit a grand slam and Talia Ross struck out 11 hitters to lead the Lock Haven softball team to an 8-4 victory over Jefferson in game one of the Bald Eagles 2026 home opener.
