BENV Kiwanis Club’s annual Kids Day a hit

MILL HALL — The Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys would like to thank you for helping us make this year’s Kids Day a huge success!

“This year’s Kids Day was one of the most successful of our 12 years in creating a fun day for Kids,” said Club Secretary Penny Meyers.

The club gave coupons for free hot dogs, popcorn and slushies to 150 kids. The children in attendance also received a ticket for free raffle baskets and bike giveaways. The raffles were made possible by a generous gift card donation from Walmart. The bikes given away were sponsored by Avery Dennison. There were games, a bounce-house and face painting by Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Mikey, the pony from Heroes and Horses/Horses of Hope, was a big attraction.

Kiwanis of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys Club members were scattered all around helping in a scavenger hunt, assisting at the art/scribble tables, serving food, hosting games and more. Laughs and smiles abound as Holly the Octopus, Amy the Chicken and Della the Axolotl meandered about the event to bring joy and entertainment to all.

The wheels on the Barrel Cart Rides never stopped turning — except, of course, during a brief intermission so that everyone could enjoy the amazing performance by the talented youth of the Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble.

The social room at the Mill Hall Fire Department was absolutely packed for the entirety of the event!

Smokey the Bear, who is always a hit, was at the front table to greet the kids with a wave or a hug, and the room was filled with the lovely fragrance of herbs brought by the Clinton County Herb Guild.

There were 21 community exhibitors, all providing information on children’s health, dental hygiene, mental health, education and more, all while providing games and raffles of their own, as well as parental resources.

The club thanks the following exhibitors: STEP Head Start and Early Learning Resource Center (Region 7), Walmart Vision Center, Clinton County Community Dental Clinic, Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Clinton County, West Branch Drug and Alcohol, CVS Pharmacy, Millbrook Playhouse, Clinton County Herb Guild, PA State Police, Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Fresh Start Chiropractic and Wellness Center, Bi-County WIC, First Quality, Horses of Hope/Heroes & Horses, Sproul State Forest, Infant Development Program, Inc., River Valley Health, Nittany Valley Holistic Health and Nurse-Family Partnership.

We would also like to thank our generous supporters of the event. Thank you to Avery Dennison, Ingram’s Market in Mill Hall, Miller Brothers of Mill Hall, Mill Hall Volunteer Fire Department, It Is What It Is, Walmart, The Express and The Record Online.

“Teamwork makes it happen and I couldn’t be happier or prouder to be part of this Kiwanis Family,” said Penny Meyers.

Next year’s Kids Day Event is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026. Mark your calendars!
