CURTIN VILLAGE EVENT On July 12, the nonprofit Roland Curtin Foundation will honor five Revolutionary War soldiers and patriots who, after the nation’s independence was secured, settled in Bald Eagle Valley and contributed to the early success of Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village. Their stories are part of a broader legacy. In total, 297 known Revolutionary War soldiers made their homes in Centre County following the war; 181 are buried within present-day county boundaries.
