Wednesday, Aug. 12: — Motorists traveling from Woodward Township into the City of Lock Haven today should expect a detour. The city’s Public Works Department will be performing a routine closure of its flood gate at the Jay Street bridge next Wednesday, leading to its closure from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. that day. Traffic to the bridge will be detoured across the Constitution Bridge in Dunnstown, according to a release from city staff. But only recently has she confronted a new problem at the childcare center she runs in Lititz, Pennsylvania: hazardous air wafting south from wildfires blazing far away in Canada. “Until the past few years, we’ve never had to worry about this,” she said.
