Retail theft

MILL HALL — A Fairfield, Conn. man was arrested and cited for retail theft following an incident at Walmart, 167 Hogan Boulevard, on Jan. 20, state police at Lamar said.

At 4:59 p.m., police were called to the store for an alleged theft where Andrea Falco, 42, took almost $100 of items from the store including: a microwave oven valued at $55; a trash can valued at $9.96; a desk lamp valued at $7.88; a storage container valued at $4.46; a notebook valued at $0.97; a candle valued at $10.87; a shower liner valued at $1.98; and a bottle of bleach valued at $4.24.

Falco was taken into custody and cited for the incident, police said.

DUI controlled substance

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar were called to a residence along Orner Road in Bald Eagle Township on Jan. 27 for reports of a man found inside a victim’s 2007 Ford Explorer.

The incident occurred at 3 a.m., and upon investigation, it was determined the 28-year-old North Bend man was under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

The man allegedly left the area on foot and was later located, police said.

Criminal charges were filed through District Judge Heidi Wright’s office.

Firearm sale prohibited

AVIS — State police at Lamar are investigating an incident where a suspect, information not listed, attempted to purchase a firearm along Fairview Street in Avis Borough on Dec. 24, 2023 while being prohibited from doing so.

Harassment

CASTANEA — A 68-year-old Lock Haven man was cited for harassment following an incident along Grape Street, Castanea Township, state police at Lamar said.

Police were called to the residence at 11:55 p.m. on Jan. 26 for reports of a verbal argument that turned physical, police said.

Charges were filed through District Judge Keith Kibler’s office.

One vehicle crash

MILL HALL — The driver of a 2009 Nissan Altima was not injured following a one vehicle crash along state Route 220 south on Jan. 25, state police at Lamar said.

At 9:42 p.m., Michael T. Kline, 21, of Jersey Shore, was traveling south and negotiating a right bend in the roadway when his vehicle struck a guardrail, police said.

Kline’s vehicle traveled north across both lanes of travel before leaving the road and coming to rest on the right berm, police said.

Kline was not injured and wore his seatbelt during the crash, police.

Kline was cited for not driving his vehicle at a safe speed, police said.

Theft from vehicle

LAMAR — State police at Lamar are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred along Hospitality Lane in Porter Township on Jan. 27.

According to police, at about 2 p.m., a registration title and card; a spare key for a Chevy Sedan and Xbox, valued at $300, were stolen from a 25-year-old Lock Haven man.

Tractor trailers

involved in crash

LAMAR — No one was injured in a tractor trailer pile up on Interstate 80 West in Lamar Township on Jan. 16, state police at Lamar said.

At 11:07 a.m., a 2012 International Harvester Pro Star, driven by Daniel Michael Newberry, 40, of Lock Haven, noticed traffic was preparing to stop in the right and left lanes of the interstate near mile marker 182, police said.

A 2020 Freightliner Springer, driven by Verne Exequiel, 28, of Oakland Park, Fla., was following Newberry and, to avoid striking the vehicle, moved into the left lane to come to a complete stop, police said.

Both tractor trailers were almost stopped when a 2024 Peterbilt 389, driven by Max Jewell, 68, of Thetford, Vt., was unable to slow down behind both vehicles, police said.

To avoid striking either vehicle, Jewell attempted to drive into the right berm but lost control of his vehicle due to weather conditions, police said.

The Peterbilt slid into Newberry’s vehicle, causing his vehicle to strike Exequiel’s vehicle, pushing all three off of the roadway and into the grassy median, police said.

All vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by Eagle Towing, police said.

Cruelty to animals

LAMAR — State police at Lamar responded to a residence along Jacksonville Road in Porter Township on Jan. 26 at 1:44 p.m. for reports of a dog being shot at the location, police said.

Through the investigation, police determined the dog that was shot had recently killed numerous chickens, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

No injuries

LAMAR — No injuries were reported in a one vehicle crash along Interstate 80 East near mile marker 179 in Lamar Township on Jan. 26, state police at Lamar said.

At 7 p.m., Jacob R. Cantando, 20, of Blooming Glen, Pa., was traveling in the far left lane of the highway when his 2006 Toyota struck a guardrail and slid across the roadway before coming to rest at the right berm, police said.

Cantando was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was cited in relation to driving on the right side of the roadway, police said.

Bad checks

LOGANTON — Michael Rote, 66, of Lewisburg, faces criminal charges after supplying a $7,000 bad check to a Loganton business, state police at Lamar said.

Police were called to the business along East Valley Road in Greene Township on Jan. 15 for a report of bad checks, police said.

During the investigation, it was determined Rote passed a check of $7,000 which was returned twice as insufficient funds, police said.

Charges were filed through District Judge Heidi Wright’s office.

Hit and run

LAMAR — A Houston, Texas, man was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property following a hit and run incident at the Flying J parking lot in Porter Township, state police at Lamar said.

The crash occurred on Jan. 21 at 12:12 p.m., when Phal C. Peach, 53, sideswiped a 2024 Volvo VNL860 with his 2016 Freightliner Cascadia while turning out of its parking stall, police said.

Peach left the scene and was later identified, police said.

Minor damage was reported in the crash and there were no injuries, police said.

Harassment

McELHATTAN — State police at Lamar were called to a residence in Wayne Township for reports of a domestic incident on Jan. 24 at 11:21 p.m.

According to reports, a 16-year-old Lock Haven girl and a 64-year-old Wayne Township woman were involved in the incident, police said.

A non-traffic citation for harassment was filed through District Judge Keith Kibler’s office against the juvenile, police said.

DUI

WOOLRICH — A 68-year-old Lock Haven man could face driving under the influence charges following a traffic stop at the intersection of Park Avenue and Woodward Avenue in Dunnstable Township, state police at Lamar said.

The driver was stopped at 7:09 p.m. on Jan. 22 for traffic violations, police said.

During the investigation, it was determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and chemical testing was consented, police said.

Charges are pending lab results, police said.

Criminal mischief

LAMAR — A 38-year-old Lamar man may face criminal mischief charges following an incident that occurred on Jan. 22 at 9:17 p.m. along Jacksonville Road in Porter Township, state police at Lamar said.

According to police reports, a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 windshield, valued at $427.80, was damaged, police said.

Charges are pending.

Theft by deception

BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar received a theft by deception report from Beech Creek Borough on Jan. 12.

The victim, a 42-year-old Beech Creek woman, told police she was scammed out of $100 via Facebook Marketplace, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.

Theft license plate

LOCK HAVEN — State police at Lamar are looking for information regarding a theft of vehicle parts that occurred between Nov. 17, 2023 and Jan. 14, 2024 in Gallagher Township.

According to reports, a 73-year-old Lock Haven man reported a stolen license plate from a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado along Sawdust Lane, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call PSP Lamar at 570-726-6000.

Theft from vehicles

LOCK HAVEN — Between 9 p.m. Jan. 26 and 11 a.m. Jan. 28, three different vehicles were entered in the 600 and 700 blocks of East Bald Eagle Street, Lock Haven City Police Reported. Multiple items and cash were stolen from the vehicles, police said.

Phone theft

LOCK HAVEN — Samatha Levinson, 35, OF Lock Haven, was arrested by Lock Haven City Police for theft.

On Jan. 12, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Levinson allegedly took a Samsung phone from a residence in the 100 Block of Wert Lane, police said.

The phone was valued at $1,000, police said.

Disorderly conduct

LOCK HAVEN — A 14-year-old female and a 15-year-old female were cited with disorderly conduct by Lock Haven City Police following an incident on Jan. 13 at Tiger Den Park along Bald Eagle Street.

According to police, at approximately 6 p.m., the two juveniles were engaged in a fight.

Loitering, trespassing

LOCK HAVEN — Three teenagers were arrested for loitering and prowling at nighttime, disorderly conduct and simple trespass following an incident on Jan. 22, Lock Haven City Police said.

Dominick Fisher, 18, of Lock Haven, Cameron Yost, 18, of Mill Hall, and a 15-year-male, of Lock Haven, were allegedly loitering around and inside 5 W. Main St. on Jan. 22 between 11:25 p.m. and 11:45 p.m., police said.

The three were accused of pounding on different apartment doors at the time, police said.

Curfew violation

LOCK HAVEN — Aften Vinson, 38, Lock Haven, was cited with a violation of Lock Haven City Ordinance for Curfews after she allowed her 15-year-old son out after curfew after previously receiving a curfew warning, Lock Haven City Police said.
