DUI crash with injuries leads to arrest BEECH CREEK — A 21-year-old Howard man was arrested following a crash involving a vehicle versus horse and buggy on Main Street, Beech Creek Borough in early June, state police at Lamar said. At 11:04 p.m. on June 7, Kaleb Matis, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S10 in the 100 block of Main Street when he was involved in a crash with a horse-drawn buggy, police said. Pa. woman accused of failing to remit $1.1M in employees’ withheld taxes

WILLIAMSPORT — The operator of two temporary employment businesses in Clinton County has been accused of not remitting $1.13 million in Social Security, federal income and Medicare taxes withheld from employees’ gross pay. Dawn Herlocher, 48, who operated Liberty Workforce and Reliable Valley Services in Loganton, is charged with 40 counts of failure to collect, account and pay trust fund taxes. Waterville man allegedly almost shoots hikers while target shooting

David M. Helminiak, 70, of 147 Third St., Waterville, has been locked up after he allegedly almost shot a couple and their dog who were walking along the Pine Creek Rails to Trail on June 18, as he was target shooting, Lycoming Regional police said in an affidavit. The reporting party stated that the bullets struck within a couple feet of where they were walking, and that they observed a male shooting from the back porch of a nearby residence.
