MILL HALL — The Prayer Shawl Ministry needleworkers met on June 3 at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall. We were happy to have with us Sherry Wilson, the mission leader at Covenant United Methodist Church in Lock Haven. The PSM donated 18 large afghans to Wilson to give to families that her church would be helping during their annual One Family at a Time project. Volunteers will help individuals in the Clinton County area with household chores, renovations (like painting or drywalling) or outdoor yard work and more. Wilson told us that she had several projects lined up for church volunteers to help folks with during the week.
We were also thrilled with the lap quilts that Carol Confer made and donated to the Prayer Shawl Ministry. We are hoping that Carol can join us for our next meeting and become a regular attendee with us. Carol has amazing sewing skills and we so appreciate her talents!
The Prayer Shawl Ministry has also been fortunate to receive several donations of yarn and also a $100 check that will be used to purchase more yarn to keep our needleworkers happy and busy!
Anyone who would like to learn to crochet or knit is invited to join us for our July 1 meeting and our skilled needleworkers will be glad to coach and encourage you in your learning process. A light lunch is always provided for those who attend the meeting.
Yarn donations can be left under the ramp at the rear of the building or by calling Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112.
