The statewide COVID-19 numbers continue to grow. On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported another record number of positive cases ­ 4,711. This total is the state's highest single-day increase to date, according to the DOH. Pennsylvania has had a total of 243,368 COVID-19 cases. Bystander killed when two vehicles collide

LOCK HAVEN - A local woman was killed in a freak accident Tuesday afternoon on Cider Press Road in Woodward Township. Rachael D. Kauffman, 42, was pronounced dead on arrival in the emergency room at UPMC Lock Haven Hospital following the 4 p.m. accident, according to Clinton County Coroner Zach Hanna. Hanna said there was a two-vehicle accident on Cider Press Road and one of the vehicles rolled over, striking Kauffman, who was standing beside her car parked in front of 305 Cider Press Road. Jersey Shore appoints new mayor and borough manager

JERSEY SHORE— The Jersey Shore Borough council unanimously appointed Abbey Welker to fill the mayor vacancy, “regretfully” agreed to Joe Hamm’s borough manager resignation and appointed Cody Hoover as the new borough manager in an in-person meeting on Monday night. Hamm was recently announced as the 84th state House seat in the Nov. 3 election, and therefore needed to resign from his position.
